like some of the others have recognised, this was ahead of its time....as far as i can recollect, it was the first 3d world you could move around in total freedom.....it was open ended in the way that you didnt have to complete any goals if you didnt want to, it was just as fun to move around on foot or in vehicles and blow stuff up.....in that sense, it could have been an early test for the GTA series. I'm quite sure a lot of people never even got to hear about this game as it was never hyped and i never heard any of my friends talking about it.....its just one of those games you come across and realise that you have something special that no-one else knows about......god knows why this game was never hyped more, they had gold in their hands!!!

Hours and hours of playing on my old 1040 stf... I remember there was a long time after this game that I couldn't find anything as interesting as this one, including couple of years ahead! I'm starting now with the emulation thing, this will be my first choice!!

What a fantasic game, this along with midwinter leaves me with some great memories. I could never fly the helicopter but the car at the start of the game reminded me of our nissan micra at the time.

This game was far ahead of its time and there was nothing like it for some time on any format. The only other game that was a bit like it in graphics was Cruse for a Corpse (does any one know where I can get that from)

I remember the day i got this game could not believe games like it were possible, many great times just exploring and blowing things up. Started playing it again recently on Steem and decided to play the game right but ended up chasing a cow about with a tank :-)

THis game somehow generated a real atmosphere. The silence, the seagull sound when it came overhead, the vehicles engines.. then you'd stop, and you were on some huge hill and you could see into the distance, and it was all silent. Really cool. I tried doing the missions a bit, but I got in this vicious circle with the generals head - two people kept sending me back to each other and I didn't progress any further. I found the map really annoying though - you couldn't see the dots straight away. I played this on STeem again just the other day, and I'm going to finish it when I'm not so busy :-)

Never really did the missions, just went round blowing things up - just as fun. A great game overall.

It was fun, just running around getting in vehicles and driving over.. er.. things. I think it was quite an immense game, but I never got further than swimming as far as I could until the sharks approached.....

One of the most adventurous games on the st, certainly the best enviroment to have a good roam around. Loads of different vehicles (hovercraft is effective), targets to hit, missions to complete hours of fun.
David Newman wrote ...2001-11-13 06:32:47
Brilliant game along the same lines as Midwinter (expect in a third person perspective). Start on foot with one goal and collect clues and drive different vehicles as the plot unfolds.

3D enviroment 7 years before Mario 64. Step 1 get in a plane. Step 2 Take off. Step 3 Crash it. mwahahaha

This was a good game, with you controlling a polygon man and with lots of vehicles to drive around in. The graphics are quite good, and I seem to remember there was lots to do. Definately worth a look.
