Ah, such a great game - I played it for so long as a little girl, when I shut my eyes in bed at night, I used to see those slighty menacing stone faces flying towards me! I've tried playing it again on an emulator but it seems way faster than I remember - either that or my reactions were much faster then!!

Ah what fond memories. The discovery pack had four great games, this being my second favourite. Anybody get further than level 11? What the hell was the thing on the bonus level? Reminds me of the Neverending Story!

Except from the fact that the arcade version came with a moving cabin to enhance the speed sensation, the conversion was firly good. Way better than thunderbolt or afterburner conversions ! First played it on CPC, but definitely stuck to the ST version !

I found it hard to follow this game. My friend got it in his Atari ST pack (probably the Discovery one) and I borrowed it a lot. I still have it :) (but I think my friend still has my copy of The Last Crusade, so possibly not the best switch...). Very true to the arcade version.

You can download the game from Automation disk 104(ftp://ftp.cs.tu-berlin.de/pub/atari/games/Automation/A_104.ST). You can see Power Pack instructions from http://www.geocities.com/yotisrx7/PowerPack.html#SpaceHarrier.

This game was great. However to me the loading time at bootup as MASSIVE.

i played this a lot to, but i thought the play screen was a bit to enclosed, maybe it was to keep the speed of the game up, i dunno.

Ahh, good old Space Harrier. I remember playing it for hours and hours... shaking because of the excess adrenaline in my veins... loved the bonus levels where you could get to vent out the rage on the otherwise undestructible obstacles ;)

one of the first games I had for my little grey beast, it came with my atari (discovery pack, I think).... it is well presented and it is great fun to play. but why the cycloptic mammoth?

Love this game.. played it for hours on end.. actually found it a bit better then the arcade game.. as this was a lot more playable. Sprites move smooth and because there really is no scroling the tempo is kept up . Really recommend this game, I was really exhausted when I finished this game but it was worth it.. Ow, play it with the mouse.. :)
