This was streets ahead of its time. Never played the game how i should have, was too young to understand what i had to do. Just remember riding of cable cars and getting killed lots :)

One of the 20+ games I bought for the ST. Loved and played it to death. But never knew about the fact that you could just go to the enemy base and blow it up at the start until I read these messages. Bummer!!

Along with Dungeon Master this is the best game on the ST!! Agree it was limited when you could just go straight to and blow the enemy HQ up to win. However every game has cheats. It ruins it to use them!!

Great game, only somewhat runied when I realized that you could just go straight over to the enemy base and blow it up at the start, thus winning without having to bother arsing around talking to people. Still great fun while it lasted.

Midwinter goes along with other seminal classics (Captain Blood etc.) which were well ahead of their time. Fractal mathematics is used here to render brilliant 3D landscapes in realtime. This was one of Rainbird's Masters of Strategy titles. Says it all really. Excellent game.

Possibly my favourite ST game of all time. The combination of great atmosphere and the open endidness of Elite makes this an all-time classic. With only one ultimate goal, you can achieve it how, with whom and with what you want. Timeless.

Midwinter was a great game, with you travelling around 3d snowy landcapes in various vehicles and with various weapons blowing things up! Quite a large game with plenty to explore, and good graphics.
